It's free to join Dunedin Public Libraries if you live or pay rates in Dunedin City.

If you live outside the city boundary and wish to join the Library on a permanent basis you can under our nonresident membership category. There is an annual $100 fee, which must be paid in full at time of joining.

In the case of families, more than one card may be issued under the nonresident membership category but all cards are attached to a single patron record.

If you are a visitor to Dunedin (up to 3 months) you can join the Library by paying a bond. A low weekly charge is deducted while you are here. After any final outstanding charges are deducted the remaining bond is refunded when you leave.
